Even at this moment there was no real suggestion that the Liverpool goal was about to fall but the ball hit White’s head and could not have been better placed into the corner of the net had the nod been deliberate. White told me he was not trying to head the ball wide as some thought. In the split second left to him he attempted to get out of the way but failed."
