Ned Doig heads for Sunderland

On Friday morning last Mr. J.E. Doig (Ned Doig), the late goalkeeper of the Arbroath F.C., left Arbroath for Sunderland, he having been engaged by the Sunderland F.C. to play as a professional. The terms are – £75 down, 30s per match, employment found. Doig played a match with the Sunderland team against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday last. Doig, it is said, gave a good account of himself. The result of the match was a victory for the Sunderland by 4 goals to 0.
