Will Chiesa Earn Premier League Medal?

When Federico Chiesa signed for Liverpool for just £10 million during the Summer of 2024, it looked like the dal of the century. However, the Italian international struggled with injuries and has failed to make a meaningful impact. While there are still hopes that the former Juventus star could turn things around, he is at risk of missing out on a Premier League medal if Liverpool can secure the title.

Betting odds with licensed operators and bookies not on Gamstop in the UK have Liverpool at 1/50 to win the Premier League as they currently sit 15 points clear of Arsenal with just 9 games to go. While Liverpool fans might be shopping around for better odds among UK sportsbooks, it is unlikely that they will find value.

However, sports betting expert explains that searching for betting sites without the same restrictions as licensed UK operators can be beneficial in other markets. Mo Salah is currently the favorite to win the Ballon d'Or and Liverpool are also in a great position to challenge for the Champions League.

One player that hasn't been backed too often this season though is Federico Chiesa, but with important fixtures coming thick and fast, can he fight his way into the first team to earn a Premier League medal?

Chiesa at Liverpool

At 27, Chiesa should be in he prime of his career which started off so brightly at Fiorentina before a successful spell at Juventus. However, of his 10 appearances for Liverpool, only 3 have come in the Premier League where he has tasted just 25 minutes of football.

The bad news for Chiesa is that Premier League rules state that a player must make 5 appearances in the league to receive a medal. With just 9 games to go, he is at risk of missing out, but there is the hope that the title can be wrapped up early and Slot could rest first team players for European ties.

Chiesa's only goal for Liverpool came in an FA Cup match against Accrington Stanley, with his other goal contributions including an assist in the EFL Cup and the Champions League

Liverpool's Title March

Liverpool have been relentless this season and Salah’s incredible form has seen him rocket to the top of the goalscoring charts with 27. Manchester City’s capitulation surprised everyone and a brief flicker of potential from Chelsea didn’t last long.

Arsenal are realistically the only team capable of challenging despite Nottingham Forest's incredible season. However, Ateta’s team are a top goalscorer away from serious competition.

Slot has done brilliantly since taking over from Klopp, and the stability he has brought to the team could lead to a truly memorable season.

How Chiesa Could Turn Things Around

Whether Chiesa stays at Liverpool after the Summer remains to be seen. If he isn’t part of Slot’s long-term plans, a loan or permanent move away would probably suit all parties, with Chiesa still having a few years at the top of his game.

If Chiesa does move on, he could still go out with a bang and enjoy cult hero status. The likes of Divock Origi never really got their Anfield careers off the ground, but there are key moments that make them memorable for all the right reasons

As Liverpool look to seal the Premier League title and fight it out in Europe, all it would take is for Chiesa to step up at the right time with a goal or assist to go down in history.

The talented forward has the ability to fill in on either wing, and a big performance at the right time will help him enjoy a lifetime of popularity among Liverpool fans.
