It was a very mixed summer for Liverpool and manager Jurgen Klopp as we started an inevitable rebuild after our 2022/23 performance levels were not what was expected, however, the rebuild that was planned became slightly bigger after we had a few departures that were not expected.
Reforming our legs in midfield went well with the signings and arrivals of Argentine World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister back in June, and Hungarian international skipper Dominik Szoboszlai in July. However, the departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to the new riches offered by Saudi Arabia was a step backwards and Liverpool were in need of a reliable defensive midfielder to reinforce our core. In came Wataru Endo from Stuttgart to try to fill that gap that seems huge in scope.
For Liverpool fans who like a flutter, they may well want to Visit Website GGBet, where there are bound to be a plethora of odds available on potential future signings.
A chase for Southampton midfielder and one capped Belgian international, Romeo Lavia, fell through and despite agreeing a whopping £111 million deal with Brighton and Hove Albion for Ecuadorian 21 year old Moises Caicedo, he too chose Stamford Bridge.
Earlier in the transfer window we had been linked with having an interest in Brazilian international and Fluminense defensive midfielder, Andre Trindade. Speculation of our apparent interest in him kicked into gear at the beginning of August on the rumour mill and we had apparently made contact with his parent club over a potential £30 million deal.
The press are naturally spinning it that the 22 year old is our third choice, but if he was on the list he was on the list. The South American season comes to an end in December, and the more recent reports suggest that they might be willing to do a deal in January as they want him to finish the year with them. This campaign he has already made 39 appearances, and the club as a whole have kept 16 clean sheets - they have also recently qualified for the quarter finals of the Copa Libertadores.
It has been another good year for the youngster and it could well get better in the remainder of their season, and whatever anyone's thoughts about how the Brazilian Serie A league compares to the Premier League, he has been capped once by his country despite his age, so there are people in the wider world of football who appreciate what his future potential could be.
If his current club are adamant that they want to keep him until the end of their domestic season, they will have to compromise but if he is a genuine want from our German gaffer, Liverpool could clearly sweeten a £30 million by a few more figures to make it happen now - if we do actually want him.
