Alisson Becker 7
Clutched a couple of crosses and picked the ball out of the net first half. Made good save from Heynen in final quarter.
Trent Alexander-Arnold 7
Lovely touches in possession and hardly tested defensively first half. More work in that regard after interval, but touch didn't desert him.
Joe Gomez 7
Opportunity to show strength and pace on occasion in fairly straightforward opening stanza. Greater examination after the break, particularly in the air, but stood firm.
Virgil van Dijk 7
More sure-footed than at times on Saturday, although not difficult given intermittent Genk attack. Stepped in with two good tackles after the break.
James Milner 7
Deflected cross created the opener and raided forward continually. Almost sold Gomez short with one pass.
Fabinho 7
Back after his Villa break, plugged the gaps as per and used the ball well. Worked well swapping positions with Keita in particular.
Gini Wijnaldum 6
Reacted quickest to prod home the opener but otherwise on the periphery first half. More involved after the interval, but not quite enough.
Naby Keita 7
Driving run forward sparked the opener and enjoyed good possession first half, twice seeing shots blocked in quick succession. Tired in the second half before being replaced.
Mohamed Salah 7
A constant danger when involved with his pace. Close with one effort before the break, and laid on the second for Oxlade-Chamberlain. Wasted a few good openings, though.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 8
Surprisingly playing up front, showed flashes first half and struck a fine shot on the turn for Liverpool's second. Grew into the game. Subbed.
Divock Origi 7
Keen to impress against the club where his career started, but dragged a good shot wide. Overplayed things at times. However, much better second half.
Andy Robertson (for Keita 74) 7
Solid support when introduced down the left.
Sadio Mane (for Oxlade-Chamberlain 74) 6
Not quite at his sharpest.
Roberto Firmino (for Origi 89)
Brazilian.
