Alisson Becker 8
One good save from Aguero first half. Busier after the break in helping ease the pressure from a constant stream of City corners. Nice tights.
Trent Alexander-Arnold 7
Played a sumptuous left-footed pass across field to Robertson in build-up to the second. Found it increasingly difficult to cope with Sterling as City built pressure late on.
Dejan Lovren 8
Not easy up against Aguero but held his own first half and glanced wide from a corner. Great block after the interval and some good headers.
Virgil van Dijk 8
Tricky times dealing with the City attack but got vital touch on Angelino shot to divert on to post first half. Necessary interceptions as the visitors pressed in second half.
Andy Robertson 8
Hands full defensively with Bernardo Silva, but free to race down the wing and put in a brilliant cross for the second. Kept causing problems after the interval going forward.
Thumping 20-yard shot for the opener and some good fouls before the break. Lots to do as City turned up the heat but kept plugging the gaps. Relentless.
Jordan Henderson 8
Plenty of endeavour on the right of midfield, although some first-half crosses weren't quite on point. Got it right for the third goal and then brought out the tricks before being subbed, presumably still feeling the after-effects of illness.
Gini Wijnaldum 8
Got through an enormous amount of work, particularly during the opening quarter when City bossed the play. Didn't stop, and intelligent possession helped at crucial times.
Mohamed Salah 8
Well up for it, his pace troubled City, one outrageous turn did for two players and was in the right place to head home the second. Quieter second half as everybody else defended, leaving him isolated up top.
Roberto Firmino 7
Pretty quiet in the opening half-hour but began to spark, firing one shot at Bravo. His ability to press and hold the ball up was missed after his departure.
Sadio Mane 7
Most of his first-half work was chasing down Bravo and helping Robertson defend the left flank. Scored, though, with a diving header – the kind of dive Guardiola definitely won't like – and kept pestering the visitors.
James Milner (for Henderson 61) 7
Slotted in on the left of a reshuffled midfield.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (for Firmino 79)
Provided much-needed energy in the closing stages.
Joe Gomez (for Salah 87)
Added protection on the right flank.
