Adrian 6
Not much chance with the Newcastle goal and barely touched the ball with his hands.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 7
A regular outlet down the right, soon got his radar working properly with his deliveries and was among several players to test Dubravka's abilities in the Newcastle goal.

Joel Matip 7
So little defending, although Joelinton is a man-mountain, and instead continually brought the ball out from the back. Graceful.

Virgil van Dijk 7
Played Atsu onside for the Newcastle strike but defensively bored for the most part and spent bits of the second half getting forward as often as possible.

Andy Robertson 9
Raided regularly down the left, prompted cheers with one piece of skill and forceful run, and assisted the equaliser. Only denied a goal of his own by remarkable Dubravka save. Excellent.

Fabinho 8
Kept things ticking over impressively in the engine room with some good distribution. His strength helped cut out a smatter of Newcastle counters.

Gini Wijnaldum 7
Lots of endeavour but much went under the radar from the Dutchman. Began enjoying himself against his former club in the final quarter. Substituted late on.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 7
Mixed bag first half on his first Anfield start for almost 17 months, although a bad touch inadvertently set in motion Liverpool's second. Improved after the break before his substitution.

Mohamed Salah 7
Barely had a look-in first half, although that helped other players find space. Far more lively second half, including a well-taken goal on demand after chants from the Kop.

Sadio Mane 8
Started centrally but much better when switched to the left. Superbly-taken equaliser and his run in behind forced the second. Another excellent showing.

Divock Origi 6
Took a knock early on and was just starting to get a grip of matters when another bang forced him off before the break.

Roberto Firmino (for Origi 37) 9
So tempting to give the Brazilian full marks for his assist for Salah alone, a thing of absolute beauty. Excellent throughout, and created Mane's second with almost his first touch.

James Milner (for Oxlade-Chamberlain 75) 6
Minutes for the midfielder.

Xherdan Shaqiri (for Wijnaldum 84)
Also known as the powercube.
