Liverpool fans can pencil in two theatre dates featuring Anfield legends live on stage this spring.
Ian Callaghan and Ian St John join broadcaster John Keith at New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion on Friday evening, April 26 for An Audience With The Saint & Cally.
The two Kop heroes will tell the inside stories of their lives and careers, reveal the secrets behind Liverpool’s glory years of the 1960s and 70s and then take questions from the audience. Callaghan, the club’s 857-match appearance record holder, will talk about his unique journey from playing for Liverpool in the old Second Division through to his role in Bob Paisley’s side that brought the European Cup to Anfield for the first time in 1977. And St John, the striker signed by Bill Shankly from Motherwell in 1961 and became a folk hero of the Kop, will reflect, amongst his many stories, on his headed goal that ended Liverpool’s long wait to lift the FA Cup in 1965.
Tickets at £12 are available now at New Brighton Floral Pavilion box office or by calling 0151 666 0000. Also on line at: www.floralpavilion.com
And Cally and the Saint will team up with fellow Anfield heroes Ron Yeats and Chris Lawler for a centenary edition of the acclaimed production The Bill Shankly Story at St Helens Theatre Royal on Friday, May 17.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of Shankly’s birth and the quartet of Liverpool greats pay a unique, definitive tribute to the man who revolutionised the club. John Keith presents the show which features exclusive audio clips of Shankly speaking. It’s a night not to be missed.
