Liverpool Football Echo report

Played at Blackpool, before three thousand spectators. McBride not feeling very well, stood down from the Liverpool team, McQue taking his place. Blackpool kicked off, and Miller at once broke away, but Davy intervened, and the Blackpool forwards rushed away in vigorous fashion, and by exceedingly strong play confined Liverpool for a few minutes to their own goal.

After McQueen had given a corner, Miller ran down but heavy kicking by the home back gave their forwards a chance, and E. Parkinson scored. The cheers had hardly died away when Hannah misjudged, and Pittaway headed in number 2. Still having the best part of the game, Blackpool forced matters and gave Liverpool no rest; and after Liverpool had a turn, when McVean had a look in, Blackpool luckily obtained a third. Half-time: - Blackpool 3 goals, Liverpool nil. Final result. - Blackpool 3 goals, Liverpool nil.
