  • - According to the Liverpool Mercury report it might seem Robertson scored one resulting in Walker only scoring two and not a hat-trick: “At length Robertson got possession and a nice combined movement between him and Walker led the outside man shooting in, and Linacre falling as he stopped the shot, the ball was bundled through after an exciting tussle under the bar” It seems more like guessing that Robertson scored when you read the notes to the game in the same publication: “But it was not until the second half was well advanced that Robertson showed the way into the net, and after that the goals came rapidly enough. Walker putting on a couple, and Raisbeck another with a fine shot.”
Liverpool Daily Post says Walker scored a hat-trick: "Five minutes afterwards Walker scored another goal after a brilliant run. There was no holding the reds after this, and the enthusiasm of the crowd knew no bounds as Walker was seen to again plough his way through the opponents and finish by planting the ball clear past Linacre for the third time."
