    At the time this match was played, the attendance was the highest in Hull City's history.

    After the match the players from both clubs attended a show at Hull's Alexandra Theatre. The Liverpool party then spent the following week in the Yorkshire seaside resort of Hornsea as they prepared for their Second Division match at Grimsby Town on the following Saturday afternoon.
