Why Liverpool refused Becton for Villa

The refusal of Liverpool to treat with Aston Villa for the transfer of Frank Becton is thus explained. Last year Liverpool wanted Chatt and Dorrall, of the Villa, to strengthen their team for the test matches. The Villa declined to part with Bob Chatt, and stated that they had Billy Dorrell from Leicester Fosse on such terms that there were morally bound to let that club have the first refusal of his transfer. Liverpool are now taking their revenge for this disappointment.
