I should have scored even more goals
Gary McAllister insists he should have scored even more goals this season.
The Liverpool midfielder scored his fifth goal in as many games as the Reds picked up three precious Premiership points at Bradford last night, but he later admitted he could have done even better in front of goal.
He said: "As the season was going on I must admit the one downside which disappointed me was the fact I hadn't chipped in with the goals. Last season I scored 13 for Coventry and now I hope I'm getting close to a respectable target for Liverpool.
"I'm feeling very confident about my game at the moment and feel I can score every time I get a chance. I suppose I now know how a striker feels when he's on form.
"I've never scored in five consecutive games before. Maybe the goals haven't come from open play, but I don't care as long as we're on the scoresheet. Every goal at this stage of the season is crucial, no matter who scores."
Liverpool's in form midfielder Gary McAllister has been named the FA Carling Premiership player of the month for April. McAllister has been in superb form for Liverpool, netting five goals in his last five games including that 44 yard strike against Everton in the Merseyside Derby.
McAllister also scored against Barcelona, Tottenham and Coventry in April. Last month, Steven Gerrard was chosen for his superb form.
