Liverpool have first option on Murphy, an attacking midfielder. They want him at the end of the season. But Dalglish watched Murphy on Tuesday and is keen to get his man quickly.
Murphy said last night: "I don't know if they have agreed a fee but something is going on."

"Danny is a player we have watched for a long time, and Crewe have kept us informed of his progress. It´s nice to get his signature, because he has a lot of potential. He can play behind the strikers or in midfield, which gives us options."
