2nd Division

Clifton Lane | Saturday 6 January 1894 at 14:30 UK local time

Rotherham Town 1 - 4 Liverpool

Half time 0–2

Notes

  • - David Henderson's goal came between the 30th and the 45th minute. Rotherham reduced Livterpool's two-goal lead through Fred Turner Junior after the interval before more Liverpool goals from Stott again and Hugh McQueen sealed a comfortable away win.

The low attendance was partly due to bad weather (the match was played on a snow-covered pitch).

The match started twenty minutes later than scheduled. Albert Rodgers was due to play for Rotherham but was unavailable so they had to send out for Horace Simmonite to replace him.
