- Liverpool win the Second Division championship by two points vs main rivals Bolton Wanderers.
- Sam Raybould twisted an ankle early in the game and struggled on until just after Jack Parkinson's goal, at which point he went off for treatment. He did not re-appear at the start of the second half. Liverpool were then reduced to nine men after ten minutes of the second period when George Fleming had to leave the field with concussion having been accidentally kicked in the face by Jimmy Hogan.
- Burnley were awarded a penalty-kick following a foul by Tom Chorlton. Ned Doig saved Fred Barron's spot-kick. Liverpool were 2-0 up at the time.
