Player Profile

A left-winger with a powerful shot who got noticed by the Daily Post reporter, Leslie Edwards, who saw him playing Army football in Germany. McLeod played three times towards the close of the 1946/47 season, the year when Liverpool dramatically won the League title by winning their final fixture 2-1 at Wolverhampton on the last day of May. McLeod had replaced Albert Stubbins in the Good Friday draw at Deepdale against Preston North End and then took over from Cyril Done for the Easter Monday return with Preston and also for the next home match against Sunderland. Mcleod wasn't called on at all the next season but had a run of four consecutive matches half-way through the 1948/49 season.
