Right-winger Young was on the bench for the first team in the League Cup win against Brighton on 30 October 2024, and later rejected a new contract with Liverpool to make a surprise move to Serbian club FK Usce in July 2025. He made five Prva Liga appearances in the early part of the season but then dropped out of the first team picture. He agreed an 18 month deal with Bristol City in January 2026, initially joining the Under 21 squad. Their technical director Brian Tinnion said "Ranel is a versatile player with a lot of talent, and we are excited for him to join our U21s setup. He adds quality and has a host of potential in the game.”
