Notes

  • - John Drummond makes his LFC debut
  • - Bill McCann makes his LFC debut
  • - The Liverpool Mercury report could lead you to believe that McCartney scored Liverpool's goal: "The Anfield brigade rushed the leather into the net after 25 minutes' play McCartney deserving a full share of the honour in having given the final touch." He clearly assisted in the goal and it is clearer who the scorer is in the Daily Post: "Another attack on McCann was well responded to and a grand rally by Liverpool resulted in a goal from the toe of Bradshaw who wormed his way to close quarters and easily defeated Ogilvie twenty-five minutes from the start" and the Liverpool Courier: "Bradshaw had the honour of scoring the first goal of the season, this being done after twenty-five minutes play."
