Notes

  • - John Whitehead makes his LFC debut
  • - James Cleland makes his LFC debut
  • - Robert Neill makes his LFC debut
  • - Bury's goalkeeper Archie Montgomery was sent off for kicking Bradshaw early in the second half.
    - Liverpool's team was seriously depleted for this match with McQue, Hannah, McLean, McCartney and Becton out. Liverpool tried to loan a few players from Scotland for this single match as was possible in those days. Hearts refused to loan Michael and Battles but as The Athletic News put it: "The Hibernian and St Bernard‘s were in a more generous mood, with the result that Neil and Clelland were found assisting Liverpool at Blackburn."
