- Liverpool played the last 20 minutes with only ten men after Maurice Parry was carried off with an ankle injury following a clash with Jack Morris. The home support was completely unsympathetic to Parry's plight, probably because Morris had had to be carried from the field earlier in the second half after the two men clashed, something they appeared to have been doing all afternoon.
