    Blackburn were awarded a penalty after Maurice Parry handled a cross but Peter Platt saved Bob Crompton's spot kick. This incident happened towards the end of the first half after Jack Dewhurst had put Blackburn 2-1 ahead with the first of his two goals of the afternoon.
