1st Division

Anfield | Saturday 13 February 1915 at 15:30 UK local time

Liverpool 3 - 3 Chelsea
Half time 3–2

Notes

  • The Echo on MacKinlay's own goal: “The Scottish Triangle on the left of the Chelsea team was troubling the home team much and when Croal, with one of his wonderful feints, left the defence guessing, McKinlay [sic] closed into the mouth of the goal and attempting to clear Croal’s centre, crashed it beyond Scott.” Post says: “Several times the Anfield backs only averted defeat by the barest margin, and at the end of twenty minutes’ play McKinlay [sic] had the misfortune to turn a centre from Croal into his own goal just beyond the reach of Scott.”
