Notes

  • - The first half of this First Division game at Anfield was dominated by Spurs, but they failed to capitalise on their possession and only had Eddie Baily's 18-yard drive to show for it, after he had been set up by Ron Burgess and Len Duquemin. After the break Jack Smith brought the scores level for the home side, but was unfortunately carried off later with a badly bruised thigh. In the 76th minute, Kevin Baron by Les Bennett was fouled in the area and Liverpool legend Billy Liddell converted the penalty to give them a 2-1 win. (From www.mehstg.com).
