FA Cup 5th round

Highbury | Saturday 15 February 1964 at 15:15 UK local time

Arsenal 0 - 1 Liverpool
Half time 0–1

Notes

  • - Jim Furnell, former LFC keeper saved the penalty from Hunt who didn't take another penalty for Liverpool.
    - Joe Baker was late with a challenge on Ron Yeats and both players got sent off. Yeats finished on the turf with a cut above his eye and the referee claimed he had hit Baker as well. Yeats wasn't too pleased about his only sending-off in his Liverpool career after the game: "I have never struck a player in eight years and I never will. If I hit anyone I would expect to be sent off. But I swear I never hit him. I asked the referee if I had had hit myself to get my cut and bleeding eye, but he would not listen."
