  • - Ron Burgess was presented with the First Division trophy after the game, which Spurs won 3-1. There were no first half goals, despite both Ted Ditchburn and Charles Ashcroft being active in keeping the ball out, but Sonny Walters hit the first goal under the goalie on 55 minutes and this was added to by a Peter Murphy shot on the hour that went in off defender Ray Lambert. Murphy added his second of the match with a goal taken from chest-high and kept down to direct the shot into the net shortly after his first. Forward Albert Stubbins' header in the last few minutes was the only consolation for Liverpool. (From www.mehstg.com).
