Liverpool 0 - 0 Swansea City

Opposition substitutions

Notes

  • -Pepe's 150th clean sheet for Liverpool.

    - Daily Post's Ian Doyle breaks down the current struggle of the Reds to win games: "Dalglish is all too aware of his team’s inability to put chances away. It’s not as if they aren’t creating any. But while a total of 11 efforts against the woodwork might suggest poor fortune, the reality is it’s more poor finishing than anything else. The 10 outfield players that started last Saturday’s goalless home draw against Swansea City have a meagre 91 career Premier League goals between them in an astonishing combined total of 1,075 games. Even taking away the defenders, that still leaves only 75 goals in 592 English top-flight games between six supposedly attacking players. As a point of reference, Liverpool’s substitutes at the weekend, Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt, have more Premier League goals between them than the starting XI put together – the injured Steven Gerrard by himself has only six fewer... Dalglish knows if Liverpool don’t improve soon, the likes of Spurs and Arsenal will steal a march in the race for a Champions League spot."
