Notes

  • Liverpool Mercury says Walker scored the first goal, but not Cunliffe as in Liverpool Daily Post. We favour Mercury over Daily Post in this instance as Mercury‘s report looks more accurate as it says Cunliffe‘s attempt was charged down.
Liverpool Mercury: "McQue headed the ball to Cunliffe, who had the misfortune of seeing his attempt charged down, but this mattered little as Walker met the rebound and banged the ball in to the net with terrific force, the teams being once again on level terms after an half an hour's play."
Liverpool Daily Post: "A lovely centre from Bradshaw was met by Robertson who inadvertently gave a corner and from this the leather was well placed, Cunliffe coming in at the finish and scoring the equalising goal after little more than half an hour’s play."
