Player Profile

Rogers made his debut in a meaningless last-day-of-the-season encounter with Sheffield United at Anfield in April 1907 and played a dozen first division games the following season. Rogers started as first-choice in the 1908/09 season, but was seriously injured against Nottingham Forest on 1 October 1908 and was out of action for 11 months. Once he returned he got a run of 14 League matches mid-way through the 1909/10 season in place of Robert Crawford as Liverpool recovered after a disastrous previous campaign and finished second. The left-back was said to be "very wild at times" in his play and liable to mistakes. He featured in two consecutive fixtures against Nottingham Forest and Manchester City towards the end of January 1911 which proved to be his last as a Liverpool player.
