Player Profile

Murray's brief Liverpool career consisted of just four matches. The defender played as a makeshift centre-forward in the last two fixtures of the 1927/28 season, at home to Tottenham Hotspur and away to Manchester United respectively. He had to wait until the middle of November 1929 before he figured for the first team again, this time in an away game with Aston Villa as a replacement for centre-half Jimmy McDougall as well as seven days later at Anfield against Leeds United. Murray later became Barrow's captain in Third Division North.
