Player Profile

Miller made a limited number of first-team appearances for Liverpool during the 1919/20 season, his debut coming at home to Chelsea on 18 October 1919. Although he played in the next two matches as well, he had to wait until nearly the end of the season before being recalled for the trip to Sheffield Wednesday in the middle of March 1920. His brother, Tom, was more successful at Liverpool, making 146 appearances and scoring 56 goals from 1912-1920. The two Millers played together on three occasions for Liverpool's first team. While playing a supporting role at Liverpool, John quickly established himself at Aberdeen after joining for a club-record fee from Liverpool, scoring 27 goals in 42 appearances in his debut season at Pittodrie. Unfortunately he broke his leg at the start of the following season and never recaptured his form.
