Player Profile
Jenkinson was a full-back who made 13 League appearances during the 1919/20 season having joined the club from South Liverpool during World War I. He played in 12 of the first 14 games of the campaign mainly due to Ephraim Longworth's absence through injury. but Jenkinson was only called on once more, near the end of the season, for the visit to Derby County on 10 April 1920. While in his second of three campaigns at Golborne he was approached by Manchester City and signed amateur forms but never made an appearance for the first team, occasionally performing for the reserves while still turning out for Golborne. Jenkinson struggled for a first-team place at Liverpool as he had the most potent full-back partnership in the history of the club to deal with in Donald Mackinlay and Longworth with Tommy Lucas ready to step in. According to the Athletic News Jenkinson was as well a "robust left hand batsman, a left-arm medium pace bowler, and a good out-field"..
