Player Profile
Tom Bradshaw was the regular centre-half at the time and when he missed seven of the 42 first division fixtures in 1930/31, James covered for him on all seven occasions. James wasn't selected at all during 1931/32 as Bradshaw was an ever-present that season and made just one more appearance when Sunderland visited Anfield on 3 December 1932.
