Player Profile

Small inside-forward Buck was selected for the first eight League games of the 1903/04 season but on 17 October 1903 he was sent off for kicking and punching a Stoke player by the name of James Bradley, who signed for Liverpool two years later. The Football League suspended Buck for six weeks, from 27 October onwards. Buck returned for the home match with Wolverhampton a couple of weeks before Christmas but was immediately left out again and made only a further four appearances in the first team. Buck's only goal for the club came in the Boxing Day defeat by Blackburn Rovers at Anfield. In his second spell at West Bromwich Albion from 1906-1914 he won the Second Division in 1911 and was a runner-up in the FA Cup in 1912 where he featured at centre-half. He made over 300 League appearances for WBA in the First and Second Division and scored more than 70 goals.
