Player Profile
Bowen had no doubt impressed Liverpool when he scored Wolves' both goals in a 2-1 win at Molineux six months prior to his move to the Reds. Right-winger Bowen had a very unlucky career at Liverpool. He only made two first-team appearances, both in League matches at the start of the 1901/02 season. His debut came in the Anfield derby with Everton on 14 September 1901 in which his beautiful centre was finished by William White for Liverpool's first goal in a 2-2 draw. Bowen kept his place but never featured for the first team again after breaking his leg in the away game at Sunderland. He made a return with the reserves a year later but only played one game before moving back, still injured, to Wolves where he had made 48 appearances and scored 13 goals in the First Division in his first spell at the club from 1899-1901. This time around he only made three appearances and scored one goal before joining second division Burslem Port Vale in the 1904/05 season.
