Player Profile

The younger brother of former Everton player Dave Watson. A centre-half whose highlight was a starting place in the Charity Shield side against Wimbledon in the 1988/89 season. Alex made his League debut for Liverpool in a 1-0 win at Loftus Road in March 1988. The strength of Liverpool's squad at the time meant that he was competing with established international players for a place in the side and it was no surprise when he left Anfield. Watson enjoyed a good career with a number of clubs, most notably with Bournemouth and Torquay and played over 500 matches in his career.
