Piechnik blossomed in Denmark's victorious Euro 1992 squad, showing considerable man-marking skills against some of the best forwards in the world. Souness could have been forgiven for thinking the Dane was a quality defender. Piechnik was tormented by Liverpool old boy Dean Saunders on his debut as Deano put two past Liverpool. Piechnik's compatriot, Jan Mølby, told LFChistory.net why he failed at Liverpool. "Torben’s biggest problem was he didn’t want to listen.
