Josh Sonni-Lambie

Sonni-Lambie joined the club's academy at under-14 level after attracting attention while playing grassroots football in London. The forward made the move to Liverpool as a teenager, leaving his family and friends behind to pursue his football career. His background in street football helped develop his close control, dribbling ability and willingness to take on opponents. Although primarily a forward, he has also played as an attacking midfielder and on the left wing. Sonni-Lambie made his debut for Liverpool's under-18 side during the 2023/24 season, while still eligible for the under-16s, and scored his first goal at that level against Derby County in May 2024. His progress continued the following season, when he became an important attacking player for the under-18s and scored 12 goals during the campaign. He also featured in Liverpool's UEFA Youth League squad and received his first call-up to England's under-18 team.

In February 2025, Sonni-Lambie signed his first professional contract with Liverpool. He continued to develop during the 2025/26 season, scoring regularly for the under-18s and gaining experience with the under-21s. His performances earned him a nomination for the Under-18 Premier League Player of the Season award. He also made appearances in the EFL Trophy, facing senior opposition while representing Liverpool's under-21 side. His development continued in 2026, when he was involved with Liverpool's first-team preparations and featured in pre-season matches. Sonni-Lambie was also included in the club's senior European matchday squad for the Champions League fixture against LASK in October. A right-footed attacker with the ability to operate in several forward positions, he has continued to work towards establishing himself at senior level.
