Pinnington is a local defender who has been part of Liverpool’s Academy from his earliest footballing days. Raised on the Wirral, he joined the club’s youth setup as a seven-year-old and progressed steadily through the age groups at Kirkby. Comfortable on the ball and composed under pressure, Pinnington is known for his positional awareness and his calmness in possession. He can also fill a holding-midfield role when required, showcasing his tactical understanding and adaptability.

Pinnington broke into the Under-18 side while still a schoolboy and made his Under-21 debut during the 2023-24 season, performing with a maturity beyond his years. His rapid development earned him a first professional contract in May 2024, underlining the high regard in which he is held by the Academy staff. Pinnington continues to feature regularly for the Under-21s, gaining valuable experience in Premier League 2 and the UEFA Youth League. He was on the bench for the first team in their 3-0 league cup defeat against Crystal Palace on 29 October 2025.
