Player Profile

Born in 1997, winger Harry Wilson joined Liverpool at under 9 level and rose through the age groups to become a full time member of the under 18s squad for 2013-14. He finished the season as joint top scorer and was rewarded with his first professional contract in the summer. By this time he was already a Welsh international, having come on as a late substitute against Belgium in October 2013 at the age of just 16 years and 207 days. This made him both Wales and Liverpool's youngest ever international but although he featured in the club's tour of the Far East and Australia in the summer of 2015 he had to remain patient. He spent the first half of 2015-2016 on loan at Crewe and was rewarded with a new Liverpool contract at the end of the season.

After impressing with the under 23s, he made his debut on 18 January 2017, coming on as a second half substitute in an FA Cup replay at Plymouth. After ten goals in twelve under 23 appearances in the first half of 2017/18, Wilson was loaned to Hull City for the second half of the season where he scored seven goals in 13 matches in the Championship. Wilson completed a season-long loan move to Championship side Derby County in the summer of 2018, joining Frank Lampard’s team soon after he had signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool.

Wilson had a very impressive season with Derby, helping them to the play off final with fifteen goals in forty appearances. Amongst the highlights was a superb free kick goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the League Cup. Despite this, he still appeared a long way off a regular place at Liverpool, and on 6 August 2019 a season long loan move to Bournemouth was agreed. He scored seven goals in 31 Premier League appearances for the Cherries, who were relegated. Unable to stake a claim to the Reds' first team at the start of 2020/21, save for one start in the League Cup, a loan fee was agreed with Championship side Cardiff City on 16 October for Wilson to spend the rest of the season there. He scored seven goals in 37 Championship appearances. After sixteen years at Liverpool, Wilson joined Fulham in the Championship on a permanent transfer on 24 July 2021.
