Four of Liverpool's best football players in the last 20 years

Every football fan knows that Liverpool is often regarded as one of the world's best football clubs. Thanks to Jürgen Klopp, the team was able to win the EPL and the Champions League back in season 2018-2019 and once again became a force to be reckoned with.

Since Liverpool is one of the oldest football clubs globally, numerous world-class footballers had the chance to wear the red jersey. Speaking of players, let's take a look at four of the best footballers that were a part of this fantastic club. We will focus more on players that played for Liverpool in the last couple of years.

1. Steven Gerrard

It probably doesn't come as a surprise that the first player on this list is none other than Steven Gerrard. The legendary English player has risen through the ranks in Liverpool until he became the team's captain and one of the country's best players.

With more than 150 goals for his team, Gerrard was one of the reasons why so many people visited Paripesa and placed bets on Liverpool. This legendary number 8 was a part of Liverpool for 14 years, during which he won three League Cups, the Champions League, and two FA Cups.

2. Fernando Torres

Even though some people didn't like the flamboyant striker, Torres played a major role in the club's success over the years. During his stay on Merseyside, the Spanish striker managed to score 81 goals in over 140 matches, which is pretty impressive.

Another interesting fact about Torres is that he became the second player after Robbie Fowler, who managed to score more than 30 goals in a season. Fernando became a part of Liverpool back in 2007, during the time of Rafael Benitez.

3. Michael Owen

The next player on this list had the nickname "Boy Wonder" because he became the youngest goal-scorer for the club. Owen scored a goal against Wimbledon when he was just 17 years old.

In total, Owen has 118 goals in 216 appearances for his club, which makes him one of the best players in the country. Unfortunately, he became a part of Real Madrid in 2004, where he couldn't quite live up to the expectations. After spending just one year there, Owen decided to return to the EPL, but this time, he joined Newcastle United.

4. Mohamed Salah

The next player on this list is probably one of the best African footballers of all time. Ever since he became a part of Liverpool back in 2017, Mo Salah has 138 appearances and 92 goals, making him one of the most successful players in its history.

He is one of Liverpool's superstars and the primary reason why the club managed to win the Champions League in 2019. Before he joined Merseyside, Salah used to be a part of Roma, where he spent two seasons. During his time in Italy, he managed to score 29 goals, which wasn't left unnoticed by Liverpool's scouts.
