Full-back Hoare made seven league appearances for Liverpool during the 1903-04 season, his debut coming on 24th October at home to Derby with his final match for the Reds being against Sheffield United also at home on 12th March 1904. Hoare trained as a carpenter and a joiner and played amateur football at Southampton Oxford when Southern League Southampton took a liking to him. He only played 8 league matches in his two spells at the Saints from 1902-3 and 1904-5. Hoare ran a tobacconist‘s shop in Woolston, Southampton and returned to amateur football with Bitterne Guild, Salisbury City and Woolston. |
