Player Notes:
Hamann was struggling a bit in Liverpool's midfield and when Houller saw the opportunity to snap up Biscan from Croatia to challenge for the defensive midfielder position he grabbed it. He arrived in the winter break of the Croatian season but unluckily for him Hamann found his form and went on to be Liverpool's most consistent player.

Biscan initially appeared rather hesitant in a Red shirt, despite scoring his first goal in a League Cup semi final at Anfield in 2001. Undoubtedly his best moments came under Benítez and in his last season with the Reds, became something of a cult hero on the Kop. Some magnificent performances in Europe, most notably away to Deportivo la Coruna, lead some to believe that his stay at Anfield would be extended. However the chants of "Igor, Igor, Igor!" can no longer be heard echoing around the walls of Anfield. The continuing Rafalution meant that Igor went to Greece to ply his trade with Panathinaikos.

After two and a half years in Greece 29-year-old Biscan returned to Zagreb in December 2007 and is currently captain of Dinamo Zagreb, being a cult hero back home as in Liverpool.

Since returning to Croatia in December 2007, Igor has only played in 41 League matches for Dinamo Zagreb ... with just five of them coming in 2009-10, although he did play in six European competitive matches during the same season. Dinamo were Croatian champions in both 2008 and 2009 as well as lifting the Croatian cup in the same years. At the age of thirty-two, Biscan can expect to win further honours in Croatia if he can stay fit.
