  • - The Liverpool party travelled to London on the Friday and stayed in the capital overnight before continuing by train on the Saturday morning. The train was delayed en route and the team did not reach Carrow Road until thirty minutes before the scheduled kick-off. The coach booked to take the team back to Norwich station did not turn up and some of the players were driven to the station in the Norwich goalkeeper's car. The rest followed on foot. They made the London-bound train and then caught the overnight sleeper train back to Liverpool from London (Euston).
