Player Profile
Right-back Josemi was the first buy of Rafael Benítez, signing form Malaga CF. He was a tough player who received on average a yellow card in every third game in Spain. He struggled to adapt to life in England after a promising start to his Liverpool career. Josemi appeared in thirty first-team matches for Levediakos during the 2012/13 season. At the end of that single season, he signed a one-year contract with another Greek club, Skoda Xanthi. The defender appeared in seventeen league matches for Skoda plus two cup-ties in 2013/14. The club from Xanthi finished third from bottom (18th) with 38 points from 34 matches and that lowly finishing position meant that they would be involved in the relegation play-off that follows the regular season of home-and-away matches.
