Jenkinson was a full-back who made 13 League appearances during the 1919/20 season having joined the club from South Liverpool during World War I. He played in 12 of the first 14 games of the campaign, but Jenkinson was only called on once more, near the end of the season, for the visit to Derby County on 10 April 1920. With the most potent full-back partnership in the history of Liverpool to deal with in Donald Mackinlay and Ephraim Longworth with Tommy Lucas ready to step in chances were few and far between for Jenkinson.
