Player Profile
Glassey scored after only five minutes of his debut match in Liverpool's first team against Preston North End at Anfield on 7 December 1935. He then added an even quicker strike in the first minute of the victory at Brentford a week later. He played eight times in the First Division during the 1935/36 season, scoring four goals in all. Glassey had only made one first-team appearance in the following season, on 26 September, when he broke his leg in a reserve game on the last day of October against Aston Villa. After being released from the club in the summer of 1937, Glassey tried to regain a foothold in the game with his former amateur club, Horden Colliery Welfare [later renamed Darlington Town] and restart his professional career with Stoke City, but struggled for a regular place at the Potters.
