Player Profile
Glasgow-born centre-half Cadden signed for Liverpool in June 1948 after impressing the club's management on their USA tour when he featured against them for the New York Metropolitan All Stars. Cadden moved to the States after being discharged from the Army at the end of World War II and stayed there for 15 months, playing for the Chicago Maroons and Brooklyn Wanderers. Cadden didn't make his Liverpool first-team debut until 23 September 1950, by which time he had already passed his thirtieth birthday. Only four more first-team appearances followed before Cadden joined Bill Shankly's Grimsby where he only made one appearance in Third Division North before moving to Accrington Stanley in the same division where he played 17 league games.
