Player Profile
A centre-half who was a Liverpool reserve for years but never made the breakthrough. Queens Park rejected a last-minute bid by Rangers and sold him to Liverpool but five years later, on 26 May 1987, McGregor moved to the Scottish club where he won the League Cup. McGregor had been released on a free transfer from Liverpool two weeks prior, shortly after being found innocent along with Paul Walsh and Sammy Lee for beating up an Everton fan outside a nightclub. Unfortunately, McGregor had to retire in 1992 after a constant battle with injuries. He only featured for Rangers' first team in his first season in Scotland.
