"I started out at Liverpool and played a lot of youth team and reserve football there. I was then promoted to the first team set-up and was on the bench six or seven times in the Premiership. And then I moved to Crystal Palace, when Terry Venables brought me in from Liverpool. I stayed there for two years, but then they went into administration and I had to look elsewhere."

"I decided to go to Italy and played in Serie B for Ternana. I was there for three seasons, but had a couple of bad injuries which hampered my progress. But I wanted to come back to England. So I rang Terry Venables and he had a contact at the Milton Keynes Dons and it went from there really. Stuart Murdoch brought me in to have a look and the coaching staff decided they wanted to sign me."
